A new school year brings excitement, possibility, and, for many families, a long list of expenses. We are grateful to share that a new supply of backpacks has arrived at the Lomas Altas Community Center and will soon be placed in the hands of local children preparing for school.
These backpacks were collected with the help of our ministry partners at Casa de los Ángeles and generous friends who wanted to support families in the Lomas Altas community. In the photo above, Naara and Manuel Martinez are pictured with Jim Sedgwick from Casa de los Ángeles as the backpacks arrive and get ready for distribution.
For the Lomas Altas Community Center, projects like this are about more than school supplies. They are one more way we can come alongside families, help remove practical barriers, and remind children that their community is cheering them on.
Naara and Manuel are working throughout the year to create opportunities for children and families through education, practical support, skills training, and programs that bring neighbors together. The backpack distribution is one part of that larger mission.
We are especially thankful for everyone who helped make this possible. Your generosity allows us to respond to real needs right here in Lomas Altas.
And this is only the beginning of the story. We look forward to sharing more photos soon as the backpacks are distributed to local students and begin their journey to school with them.
Thank you for helping us invest in the children and families of Lomas Altas.
